Job description

The Division of Psychology and Mental Health are seeking to appoint a Clinical Tutor (0.6fte) to complement our existing tutor team on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) programme. The post holder will act as a training co-ordinator for Trainee Clinical Psychologists and assist in clinical placement organisation. In addition they will provide pastoral care, supervision, teaching and other academic input into the ClinPsyD.

Alongside their usual tutoring duties, the post holder will take a lead in developing, managing, and sustaining the ClinPsyD CBT pathway which aims to support a number of trainees in gaining the experience required for BABCP level 2 accreditation at the end of training. The successful post holder will support the integration of CBT competency development in line with BABCP standards alongside completion of the ClinPsyD.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will contribute to the supervision of trainees who are delivering CBT interventions within the in-house ClinPsyD CBT clinic, based within the department. The clinic was established in 2021 and provides high-intensity CBT interventions for students and staff with common mental health problems (e.g., anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder), such as those seen at step 3 within NHS Talking Therapies services. Therapy is delivered by students on the ClinPsyD as part of their CBT skills training and development.

The ClinPsyD programme is committed to anti-racism and tackling discrimination in all its forms. We welcome applications from all sections of society but would be particularly pleased to hear from Black, Asian or minority ethnic candidates or people from other under-represented groups.

Interviews will be held on 17th April 2024.
