We're looking for candidates to be based in our Leeds office where we offer a hybrid-approach to working.
We are hiring 2 different types of Cloud Data Architects:
Cloud Data Architect (Senior)
Junior Data Architect (Mid-Level)
Salaries are composed of a base amount with an additional specialist allowance. Further information will be provided if successful at the assessment stage.
What you'll do as a Cloud Data Architect
- Design and implement data collection and reporting.
- Work with other data practitioners, including data scientists and data engineers to analyse current data models and interpret user requirements in order to build or adapt data models and metadata systems.
- Provide technical guidance for data management, data quality and the reporting, including secure data handling.
- Improve the wider understanding of Data Architecture and advise teams on the management of data product life cycles.
- Ensure alignment of solutions to our target architecture and broader technical strategy
- Work with data practitioners and others to develop and record architectural standards and processes
- Work with other architect and engineers to deliver modern cloud-based services in AWS or Azure and through SaaS
- Support the Department's data strategy to ensure that solutions align, are reusable whenever possible, use common components and able to evolve so that technical debt is minimised
What we're looking for
- Demonstrable experience in data modelling for high configurable software applications
- Experience transforming data from logical models to physical schemas and experience of using industry-standard data models and of defining mapping/transformations between data models
- Awareness and understanding of a range of tech stacks and the ability to take a balanced approach to technology selection and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, senior management and non-technical audiences, presenting clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data
- Ability to help build, design or integrate services by contributing code, testing technologies and producing rapid prototypes, including familiarity with version control software such as 'Git' as well as the ability to produce, interpret and understand solution design documentation
- Experience of cloud technologies, enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools
- Good knowledge of data governance, metadata, data security and privacy, including familiarity with the legal and regulatory requirements around data, especially GDPR.
- Experience in designing Data Architecture that deals with problems spanning different business areas. Identifying links between problems to devise common solutions across multiple subject areas, or a single large or complicated subject area.
