As a Barclays Cloud Data Platform Architect, you will be a key member of a cross functional team, who will play a pivotal role in implementing modern, scalable data solutions using a wide range of new and emerging technologies. You will ensure that encompasses all aspects security, governance and control, putting this at the forefront of development. Further to this, you will be accountable for developing solutions architecture and evaluating architectural alternatives.

What will you be doing?
• Designing and implementing infrastructure to support data engineering roadmaps
• Developing and evaluating solution design/architecture for the Data Platform
• Assisting the lead engineer in engaging with senior stakeholders across the business
• Ensuring that knowledge is kept up to date and latest trends are understood
• Leading and managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to all work undertaken
• Collaborating with team members and wider business colleagues

What we’re looking for:
• Experience of architecting data solutions on one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure
• Experience in MDM, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage Tools
• Experience of distributed systems such as Snowflake/Databricks, Spark and Airflow
• Experience of using DevOps Practices such as GitOps, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Evidence of designing solutions with a modern data stack
