Cloud Engineer

**Service Description:**

A Cloud Engineer designs, develops, and manages cloud-native infrastructure, applications, and services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. They enable on-demand creation and removal of versioned infrastructures required by software solutions across various development environments (Development, Testing/Quality Assurance, Staging/Pre-Production, Production, Disaster Recovery) in both cloud and on-premises settings. This promotes lifecycle efficiency, cost savings, business continuity, and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) compliance.

**Position Overview:**

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Development Frameworks & Services product line. The engineer will support 4-5 product teams, helping them manage their cloud infrastructure on Azure. The role involves setting up cloud environments per Group standards and managing these environments according to the product teams' needs.

The Cloud Engineer will be part of the Engineering chapter, comprising professionals who design and implement robust technical infrastructures for the Group's digital projects. They are granted necessary permissions in production environments to enhance solution scalability and resiliency through proactive and reactive monitoring, diagnostics, and issue resolution. As active members of product clusters, they support the "You Build It, You Run It" (YBI YRI) operations model, collaborating with other chapter members like MLOps Engineers, Database Administrators, and DevOps Engineers.

**Responsibilities:**

- Align infrastructure implementation, monitoring, and management with software architecture
- Influence software architecture to streamline operational management
- Monitor instances to ensure cost efficiency and performance optimization
- Manage configuration changes, documentation, and automation
- Monitor and manage logs
- Handle patch management
- Oversee security and key management, and manage application roles and authorizations
- Monitor infrastructure and application performance and health
- Develop and oversee infrastructure automation for deployment
- Track build and deployment status
- Manage infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
- Handle Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) software release management and automation

**Requirements:**

- Extensive IT knowledge covering infrastructure domains (networking, security)
- Understanding of cloud services architecture, design, and development
- Previous experience as a cloud consultant
- Fluent in English; additional skills in German, Dutch, or French are advantageous
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for high-availability services
- Experience with container management (Kubernetes or AKS)
- Understanding of authentication and authorization principles in cloud environments
- Familiarity with microservice-oriented IT architectures
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and GCP
- Proficiency in scripting (Terraform, CLI & PowerShell, YAML)
- Proven experience with similar missions/projects/technologies
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture and services
- Knowledge of IoT architectures is a plus
- Experience in designing and developing cloud security strategies and networks
- Skill in creating technical concepts, specifications, and architectures
