Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

You will be a hands-on technical expert helping us deliver projects in a true DevOps manner. You will apply a software engineering mindset to problems, whether that’s provisioning services, writing code or writing automation tools and scripts. You will have a lean mindset, striving to build reliable and performant services that are operationally sound. You will strive to do things better and faster, eliminating waste and applying this across the entire software delivery lifecycle for both internal customers and end users.

What you’ll do
  • You’ll be responsible for provisioning cloud infrastructure for our feature teams. Working closely with Architects and developers to build end to end Cloud Native solutions. You will bring your experience of building and operating Cloud Native solutions to the table to help the team weigh up solution options and trade-offs.
  • Advocacy and education: Help raise the bar for development teams, helping them learn and become self-sufficient, creating bots, apps and utilities to make the teams everyday life better and more productive.
  • Apply an automation approach to your work. You will be involved in everything from IAC, CI, CD, security tooling, code quality tools, deployment tooling and creating self-service technologies.
  • You’ll provide technical support for the transition of applications into live service and support.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini, stiving for equity, diversity and inclusion is part of everyday life, and will be part of your working reality. We have built an inclusive and welcoming environment, for everyone

Your skills and experience

What you’ll bring:
  • For you, writing software that defines cloud infrastructure will be as natural as writing software for applications and you’ll bring the same skills and attitude to bear, using test-first thinking to create high-quality code regardless of the underlying technology
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing; experience of building scalable, resilient applications using microservices
  • Experience of containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continous Delivery (CD)
We’re also using the following technologies and patterns, it would be great if you had some of the skills, if not we can help develop them:
  • Designing microservice-based architectures using domain driven design (DDD). CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns
  • Kubernetes
  • Hold a certification from AWS, Azure or Openshift
  • JIRA / Confluence

You will be required to pass through Security Clearance if you are successful in this recruitment process, which is a condition of undertaking the role.
