Job Overview:

We are hiring for a cloud service & tools consultants to lead the design and development of supporting services to enable our business users to be able to use our new Cloud D&A Platform & Tools. The person will also provide support for existing service offerings, across the Data & Analytics Platform Strategy Implementation and Data Science & Analytical Tools Strategy Teams

Responsibilities Include:

Provide strategic guidance on the transition to Azure data services for our analytical Platforms and Tools.

• Lead the design and development of new analytical capabilities and services, in close consultation with SMEs, for supporting Cloud Services to business users as part of the updated operating model for the Enterprise Data Platform.
• Support for existing services which may include, but not limited to, running service meetings and leading on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver the new capabilities and services to the agreed plan, considering time, budget and quality, engaging SMEs as appropriate to inform and consult on the design during the development process.
• Report progress against plans to the key stakeholders, managing/escalating exceptions to the Delivery Manager.
• Build key internal and external networks in order to hold effective discussions.
• Lead the migration and design of new processes, working alongside business and technology teams.
• Utilize experience in Target Operating Model (TOM), Cloud Services, and change management.
• Enhance existing processes and systems.
• Develop and manage use cases, acting as the liaison between use case development, business requirements, and technical implementation.
• Ensure the efficient operation of platforms and processes.
• Understand and implement services, building processes around them.
• Leverage experience with Microsoft Azure to support cloud-based initiatives.

Essential criteria and experience

Experience of designing and implementing Target Operating Model for cloud data platforms and analytical services.

• Working in a change environment, and experience of how to manage change and business as usual together.
• Leading and coordinating delivery of artefacts, working closely and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
• Forming strong stakeholder relationships, with the ability to command credibility at senior management level and influence both business and technical decisions and behaviours. This means acquiring a reasonable understanding of Data & Analytics platforms; the nature of data and analytical work in different business areas; the approach to data management; and change management processes.
• Strong emphasis on quality, accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Capable of planning and strategic thinking. Demonstrates forward planning of own work, and other SME contributors in alignment with the overall project.
• Able to identify and deploy the appropriate resources to deliver against agreed requirements driven from the solution design.
• Awareness and management of risk identification, mitigation and actions.
• Have a consistent track record of forming and maintaining trusting relationships with business colleagues and be able to demonstrate an interest in and understanding of business processes.

Desirable knowledge/competencies

Good working knowledge of Jira & Confluence or similar packages.
