Cloud Solutions Engineer: Innovate with a Leading Technology Provider

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per annum | Duration: Permanent | Remote (Headquarters in Manchester)

About the Role:

As a Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will be an integral part of our technology team, playing a key role in shaping and delivering solutions for our clients. Empowered to make wide-ranging decisions, you'll work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals in a dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will include creating and updating Automation Pipelines, IaC Templates, scripting, coding, container orchestration, config management, performance, and reliability engineering.

Significant numbers of customers that you will be working with are on-premise. The role will focus on supporting business problems, working on complex Linux systems, improving pipelines, modernising apps, and working on clusters. The role will offer more and more opportunity to work with public cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a multi-skilled team of DevOps engineers, contributing expertise in Automation Pipelines, IaC Templates, Scripting, Coding, Container Orchestration, Config Management, Performance, and Reliability Engineering.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and development (CI/CD), promoting DevOps principles to drive faster innovation and improved time to market.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and industry trends, supporting our commitment to staying ahead in the field.
  • Understand the impact of technical decisions on projects and departmental practices, taking ownership of your decisions.
  • Demonstrate confidence in acknowledging gaps in knowledge and a passionate commitment to finding solutions.
  • Develop and enhance product stacks and automation, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date documentation.
  • Create automation pipelines to drive efficiency, minimize manual input, and optimize processes.
  • Ensure security considerations are embedded in all stages of product and service development.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • In-depth understanding of Linux.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps engineering role, showcasing the capability to deliver high-quality automation pipelines, scripting, and infrastructure as code under pressure.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Azure DevOps.
  • Exceptional understanding of IaC techniques and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
  • Demonstrable experience in development languages (Python, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, Shell).
  • Experience with public and/or private cloud environments (AWS, Azure, VMware).
  • Familiarity with container technologies (Azure AKS, Amazon ECS, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Scripting proficiency with BASH/PowerShell.
  • Practical knowledge of system architectures and networking.
  • Experience delivering and managing systems on VMware technologies.

Certifications (Desirable):

Azure DevOps Expert (Az 400) |AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional) | Terraform Associate (003) | Docker Certified Associate (DCA) | Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
