Sport Durham University is one of Europe’s leading sport universities and has been ranked in the top three team sport universities since 2013. In 2019 the University completed the construction of a £32m Sports & Wellbeing Park, adding to a prior investment, on the same site, of £8m in 2012 making it the sporting facility in the north of England. As a result of the amazing work that has been carried out across our performance, participation and community networks the University was awarded the Times and Sunday Times Sports University of the Year for 2022/23, More specifically, our representative BUCS sports programme which boasts 57 sport clubs has been regularly ranked in the top three for university sport and won over 60 national championships in the last 10 years. Primarily the Club Development & BUCS Officer will: Lead the operational delivery of the competitive BUCS programme which includes but not limited to, fixture planning, travel arrangements and coordination with BUCS and other institutions. Assist in wider Club Development initiatives through managing a small portfolio of sport clubs and delivering the annual training programme for student leaders. Oversee the financial administration, purchasing and planning for the BUCS sport programme including travel, Team Durham Membership, BUCS affiliations and competition entries (leagues & events). Support the Team Durham management team and Team Durham President with student club leader engagement.
