Cnc 5 Axis Programmer

Styles Precision Ltd, based in Hartlebury, Worcestershire require CNC 5 Axis Programmer/Setter/Operator to join our growing and innovative family business. We specialise in high quality CNC Precision Machining. We have 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC machines, as well as EDM Wiring capability. Our customers include Pharmaceutical, Renewable, Engine Test, Packaging, and Security Industries. The candidate will be working closely with other members of our busy Production Team, responsible for producing parts to customer drawings, will have a proven track record in sub-contract machining and have worked in a production engineering environment, be capable and competent in using Heidenhain/Fanuc Control and CAD/CAM Software. We are currently using Powermill as a CAD/CAM Package but are in the process of introducing and moving across to Hypermill as a continuous improvement and investment this year.

The ideal applicant will be proficient in programming, setting, and operating 5 Axis machines, including our DMU 75 MonoBlock's, DMF180 and Spinner U-1530 machines. Flexibility and can do approach in programming, setting, and operating all 3, 4 and 5 Axis milling machines when necessary is also key, in covering holidays, sickness and potential extended hours to suit business needs.

Technical knowledge and approach to work holding, tooling, and machining varied materials will also be required. Identifying and implementing continuous process improvements which will increase efficiency and output we are looking for to drive the company forward.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To program, set, and operate CNC 5 Axis machines to produce component parts to drawing and process requirements.
• The CNC 5 Axis Machinist will assist in the manufacturing of parts through the production process, ensuring planned times for setting and manufacturing are met or improved, and high-quality parts produced within required performance, cost, and delivery targets.
• Programming, Setting and Operating CNC 5 Axis Machines using Heidenhain/Fanuc controls using models and printed drawings.
• Ability to work to high standards on tight tolerances, repeatably.
• Adhering to quality standards and checking work using a variety of different instruments
• Mainly small batch work using a variety of different materials
• You may be required to work alternative shifts / hours
• You may be required to perform any other reasonable duties/specific projects from time to time and as directed by management

Key Competencies and Experience:

• Proven experience using CNC 5 Axis Machines with Heidenhain/Fanuc Control and demonstrate the use of CAM software (preferably Powermill/Hypermill) as an addition to this.
• Good working knowledge of component dimensions using various inspection equipment - including but not limited to Micrometers, Verniers and Plug Gauges.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and Engineering drawings is essential.
• Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by internal and external customer specifications
