CNC / Manual Machinist / Operator
Job Role Summary:
To operate CNC / Manual Machining Centres (Turning/Milling), ensuring all jobs are managed to required quality standards within appropriate timescales in a small but busy machine shop.
To fully comply with the company Management Systems, incorporating Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Requirements
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Programme, run and operate various Machining Centres
Turn, mill and drill various steel/cast components
Overcome any tooling and set up problems encountered when machining components
Support Quality / Business Improvement initiatives
Support other Operators by providing flexibility as & when required
Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by Line Manager, that are within the role holder s ability
Education / Qualification Requirements:
Apprentice Trained / Currently serving an apprenticeship (To NVQ level 3 standard or equivalent)
Formal qualification in machining.
Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
Desirable:
Safe Working Practice acumen
Manual Handling / Slinging and Lifting methods, technique, knowledge and experience
Essential:
Ability to work on own, using initiative, but also as a member of a team
Willing to be flexible and work any required overtime when needed to support the business
Salary starting at GBP24,602.98 on day shift for 1st 13 weeks Monday - Thursday 0745 - 16.30 Friday (Apply online only), after successful probation opportunity to move to double days 6am -2pm, 2pm - 10pm and salary increases to GBP26,630 plus shift allowance GBP5.5k
