Manual Machinist
Our client, based in Biggleswade, are looking for a manual machinist to join their workshop team. This is an ideal opportunity to join a successful, leading engineering company.
Responsibilities
- Experience in the machining of parts/components using conventional manual machinery, band & chop saws, pillar drills and metal finishing equipment.
- Understand and work to detailed metric drawings.
- Grinding and fitting familiarity desirable
- Machined parts must be produced to a high standard of tolerance & finish
- Able to work unsupervised in a reactive engineering environment.
Personal Specification
- Manual lathe ability essential
- Willing to work on own initiative and within a team
- Ability to adhere to strict schedules
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety policy together with current regulations.
- Working knowledge of machining methods and mechanical principles.
Hours of work and pay
- Up to £15.50/hour DOE
- 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Mon to Thurs.
- 7:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday.
- 40 hours per week.
