With increasing capability, capacity, and investment in people through the Sharing in Growth coaching and mentoring programme, they are looking to recruit a talented Customer Miller into their team.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled programmer, setter, operator of a Okuma MB-8000H Miller, who

is looking to take ownership of the role. It is essential the successful candidate enjoys a multi skilled role who is used to working tight tolerance finished machining.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Setting and operating of Okuma MB-8000H Miller using the programs and tooling specified

• Editing of new and existing programmes

• Hand finishing/cleaning of components where necessary

• Final inspection of components, maintaining and owning the quality of the products machined

• Following and maintaining all documentation standards required

• Working to very fine tolerances within a Six Sigma environment

• Working to production schedules to meet output requirements

• Carrying out planned health and safety checks of equipment

Skills & Experience

• Experience of Okuma OSP or Fanuc controller a distinct advantage

• Experience in a low to medium volume, high tolerance production environment

• Ideally, a time-served apprentice with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar environment

• Experience of operating Mitutoyo CMM an advantage

• Use of a range of measuring equipment, micrometres, Trimos Height Gauge etc

• Precision engineering or tool making background

• Experience in working with Nickel Alloys

• Willingness and ability to adapt to company manufacturing procedures

Hours of Work/Shift Pattern

Days 

Mon – Friday 6am – 2pm

Afternoons 

Mon – Wed 2pm – 11pm

Thurs – 2pm – 10.30pm

Friday – 2pm to 6pm

These shift systems are currently ongoing, however, may change in the future depending on business needs.
