CNC Miller Setter

Are you an experienced milling machine setter with leadership skills ready to step into a dynamic role? Pertemps, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a Milling Setter/HCN Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to the success of our client's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your expertise in setting machines and supervising a team of machine operators.
- Demonstrate proficiency in setting milling machines, particularly with Mazak controls.
- Resolve tooling issues efficiently to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Manage day-to-day machining and tooling challenges effectively.
- Oversee the operation of 16 Mazak control HCN6000/1 machines on a daily basis.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager to meet customer schedules and production targets.
- Coordinate with the nightshift team, communicating any issues and ensuring seamless operations.
- Maintain flexibility in working hours to address machine issues or staffing needs promptly.
- Monitor and address scrap levels, actively participating in weekly scrap and production meetings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in setting machines and leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong familiarity with milling machines, especially those with Mazak controls.
- Proficiency in tooling and the ability to troubleshoot daily challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and management.
- Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Benefits:
- Competitive starting rate of £15.50 per hour, with the potential to increase to £16.00 per hour after a successful 3-month trial period.
- Dayshift schedule: Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 16:30, and Friday, 07:30 - 12:30.
