Metalis are working in partnership with a manufacturing company who are looking for a skilled and detail orientated individual to join their team due to growth within the business and a healthy order book. This position would be working within their CNC machining cell as a setter operator.
Job Overview
The day to day role will be developing CNC programs for newly developed parts and production components that require more stringent cycle times to produce components on our CNC Machines: Working from tooling information and supporting the delivery of our production schedule.
Responsibilities
- Setting & operating CNC Milling machinery
- Working from engineering drawings & specifications
- Loading raw materials into the machines and securing them properly for machining
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools and fixtures based on job requirements
- Carrying out inspection duties ensuring the finish product meets the required standards
- Working to strict health and safety policies
- Developing production methodology to produce the component
- Collaborating with inspectors to ensure drawings tolerances are met
- Self-management of work load to work efficiently
- Adjusting programs to overcome dimensional errors
Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience Setting and Operating CNC Milling machinery - ideally Elumatec
- Experience working within manufacturing environments,
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge of tooling selection, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters for different materials
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Keen eye for quality and experience with machining first off inspections, and in built quality control
Hours & Pay
7:00-16:00 Monday - Thursday, 7:00-15:00 on Fridays
£13-14.40ph DOE
