Salary Role – CNC Turning role
Location – Norwich, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Thursday 8am – 4.30pm and Friday 8am – 13.30pm
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Rate of pay – Depending on experience - £13.00 - £16.60 per hour
Our client is an innovative and forward thinking business who is looking to add a Machinist to their machine shop.
Ideally you will have programming experience on CNC lathes and multi axis turning centres.
Main duties will include –
• Setting-up and operating a range of basic and multi-axis CNC turning centres.
• Loading and safely operating a range of basic and multi axis CNC Lathes ensuring that machine down time is minimised.
• Verifying programs and settings using a range of measuring / inspection equipment
• Ensure component compliance in accordance with engineering drawings and quality procedures using a range of measuring / inspection equipment and process control plans.
• Working to continuous improvement activities within the machining section.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
• To take a responsible and proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental risks in relation to your own role and to control the risks or report them to the management team as appropriate.
Candidate attributes -
• Ideally will be a time-served engineer / toolmaker with extensive CNC turning experience ideally Fanuc based programming g code knowledge.
• Used to working to tight tolerances in a wide range of materials.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
• Fanuc ISO machine and control experience desirable (Mazak, Doosan and HAAS,).
• Able to troubleshoot machining processes and work under own initiative.
• Comfortable working within an ISO 9001 controlled environment.
• Experience of working in a dynamic sub-contract machining environment.
• Understands and can perform workshift and tool wear compensation / offsets.
• Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery.
