Job Title: CNC / Manual Machinist in Corby
Salary: £36,779 (including 15% shift allowance, rising to £37,586 following successful completion of probationary period).

What you will do
We are currently looking to recruit a Machinist for our Engineering Shop at our Corby . The Engineering Shop has received over £500k in new machinery investment in the last 5 years and within the next year will be relocating to a new workshop on the Corby site.
Over the next 2 years an additional £1 million is due to be invested in further new machinery and upgrades.
The Engineering Shop provides services and support for our tube manufacturing operations. The Machinist will be responsible for machining one off and small batch components or plant equipment from engineering drawings or to internal specifications and standards. The job holder will need to work 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday. The shift pattern covers days, backs and nights on a weekly rotation.
What you will need
In order to be considered for the Machinist role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Must be time served having completed a relevant recognised apprenticeship or demonstrable competence by experience
- NVQ level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent or demonstrable competence by experience
- Candidates should be experienced in the manual operation of lathes, grinding, milling machines and general workshop machinery
- Candidates should be experienced in setting and operating CNC lathes and milling machines
- Advantageous to have experience with CNC programming; including understanding and editing of ISO G Code, Siemens 828D ShopMill and Fanuc i-Guide or keen and willing to learn
- Advantageous to have experience operating mobile plant and overhead cranes
- Must have experience of working within a safe system of work
- Any safety accredited course would be advantageous (E.G. IOSH or NEBOSH)
- Be capable of interpreting technical drawings and standards
- Competence in using measuring equipment e.g. calipers, micrometers
- Be able to complete manual tasks up to 25kg in weight
- Must have a valid driving license
