SalaryScantec Recruitment are partnering with a leading packaging manufacturer to recruit a Toolmaker to join the business on a permanent basis. If you are from a CNC background with experience with cylindrical grinding or CNC Turning, with strong CNC knowledge this could be an excellent opportunity for you. Our client is open on skill-set and ability, and can offer structured and in-depth training to develop you.
Reporting to the Toolroom Team Leader, this role will be responsible for toolmaking and technical support for the area, undertaking preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and working with R&D teams on production of new tools for production purposes.
Salary bands increase with experience through the training programme.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, Earlies & Lates rotation
- Monday-Thursday, 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
- Friday 6am-11.30am / 11.30am-5pm

Toolmaker - Summary of main responsibilities:
- Identify and implement improvements
- Ensures machinery is safe to operate
- Surface grinding and milling
- Fitting of punch tools
- Assembly of parts / tools
- Proper implementation of the required WCP standards
- Daily maintenance of the machines (oiling, greasing, cleaning housekeeping) and work areas
- Involvement in technical projects when required
Required skills and experience:
Ideally we are seeking an experienced CNC Turner / setter-operator, or Time served Toolmaker with previous similar experience. Ideally minimum of 2 years (however training and development can be provided). And must be used to working in an Industrial FMCG Manufacturing Environment.
