SalaryCobbles Sandwich Co. is looking for Deli Assistants to join our team!
Established in 2015 and home to the famous doorstop sandwich, Cobbles Sandwich Co. is finally expanding and we are looking for assistants who are passionate about food and providing the best customer service experience in our locations (Ogmore, Barry, Newport)
Duties:
- Prepare and assemble deli items
- Assist customers in selecting deli products and provide recommendations
- Operate deli equipment including slicers and ovens
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till system
- Stock and replenish deli products as needed
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper storage of perishable items
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the department
Skills:
- Food preparation: Experience in preparing and handling food in a fast-paced environment
- Culinary: Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food presentation
- Help: Willingness to assist customers with their needs and provide excellent customer service
- Kitchen: Familiarity with working in a kitchen setting and using kitchen equipment
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment is a plus
- Upselling: Ability to suggest additional products or promotions to customers to increase sales
- Food safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe environment
- Time management: Efficiently manage time to prioritise tasks and meet customer demands
