Address Axcis are actively looking for Hard Working, Passionate and Reliable Post 16 SEND Support Workers to work in a SEND college for pupils who have complex needs and severe to profound multiple learning difficulties. This is a full-time classroom-based role and is to start ASAP. As a successful Post 16 SEND Learning Support Worker, you are required to be an engaging and resilient support assistant who is able to work with students in and out of class, set clear boundaries, and provide personal care. This Post 16 SEND Learning Support Worker role is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring SEND educators or those looking to expand their experience in special education in a supportive and friendly team environment. Many of the students will communicate non-verbally, so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. You must be comfortable with personal care (feeding and toileting). As a Post 16 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with other staff members and a multidisciplinary therapy team. Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils are essential. Responsibilities: • Personal Care Support: • Aid in the administration of medication under the guidance of healthcare professionals. • Assist students with mobility and transfers using appropriate aids and techniques. • Support students in accessing college facilities, classrooms, and resources. • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the inclusion and participation of students in educational activities. • Provide emotional support and reassurance to students during challenging moments. • Communicate effectively with teaching staff, healthcare professionals, and other support staff to ensure coordinated care for students. Requirements: • Previous personal care experience or a background in providing care services to individuals with disabilities or special educational needs. • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Understanding and commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. • DBS on the update service and right to work in the UK INDLON
