Commercial Claims Handler - Independent Broker

A fantastic opportunity to join one of the longest standing and most respected insurance brokers in the region as they look to add a Claims Handler to their established team due to continual growth across the Group.

The role will sit within the central claims team based at the Head Office in West Yorkshire, however it will provide support to regional offices across the UK in relation to commercial losses.

Key Duties:

• Responsibility of handling claims for clients, ensuring they are processed as speedily and efficiently as possible
• Typically dealing with Motor, Property, EL /PL, Material Damage and BI claims
• Deal with claims submitted efficiently, effectively and pro-actively
• Achieve retention by providing an excellent, professional service to the client
• Liaising with third parties, policy holders, insurers, solicitors, and loss adjusters
• Dealing with claims from cradle to grave, including negotiating all aspects of claims including credit hire from customer perspective
• Maintain effective internal communication through liaison with team members, external communication with Insurers and other contacts
• Work closely with Account Handlers & Account Executives in relation to losses associated with their clients

Skills

• Previous experience handling Commercial Claims is essential
• Ideally a background in all types of claims, however those with strong motor experience would be fantastic
• First rate customer service skills and an ability to understand their needs
• Strong telephone and negotiating skills

Salary for the role depends on experience but typically ranges from £35k to £40k and comes with 29 days holiday, pension with a max employer contribution of 9%, an annual bonus of 5% of salary, support for CII qualifications, well-being support, company shares scheme, private medical, life assurance at 4 times salary, hybrid working with 3 days in and 2 from home and free on-site parking.
