Commercial Contract Manager (Fixed Term)

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our busy Procurement team as Commercial Contract Manageron a Fixed Term basis for 12 months.

You'll be based in our head office in Basingstoke, combining office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.

The Role

As Commercial Contract Manager, you'll be responsible for the delivery of the Commercial Contract savings initiatives contributing to the total Supplier Relationship Management SRM) project benefit. This role is vital in the mobilisation of our SRM programme., which will pave the way for how SNG contracts will be managed going forwards, ensuring value for money is delivered during the contract life and that contracts remain compliant.

Reporting into our SRM Mobilisation Lead, responsibilities include:

• Supporting the SRM Mobilisation Lead to deliver commercial benefit, contract management best practices and implement the SRM approach across SNG contracts and supply chain
• Delivery of Commercial Contract management opportunities against agreed targets which have been committed to as part of the SRM programme, such as strategic purchasing, reducing contract leakage, adherence to contract pricing and KPI's, and maximising rebates
• Working with suppliers and senior business leads to manage contracts appropriately, obtain key supplier performance information and maintain the relationship
• Identifying underperforming contracts and working with key stakeholders and suppliers to improve delivery and reach a positive outcome for all parties
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contractual documentation whilst identifying and mitigating contractual risks and liabilities, and ensuring contract changes identified as part of SRM are reflected through formal contract variations
• Leading in the design and implementation of innovative commercial solutions, including robust and leading-edge contract management tools, techniques and processes and helping to embed these across the organisation

What we're looking for

You'll have demonstrable experience in a similar role in procurement with extensive experience of managing the commercial performance of procurement contracts. You'll also have:

• Experience in contract drafting and varying
• Significant negotiation and supplier management skills
• Sound business acumen and robust commercial judgment, always advocating best commercial practice
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with proven ability to engage and influence others
• A professional and logical approach to problem solving with strong analytical skills
• Good level of IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
• An organised approach to your workload with excellent attention to detail
• Strong collaboration skills, sharing ideas and working cohesively with the wider team
