Commercial Contracts Manager

Hobson Prior is seeking a Commercial Contracts Manager to join a Legal & Compliance Team. This role is crucial in ensuring strong and sustainable contracts are created with customers. These contracts help the company deliver the best solutions to patients while also reducing company risks.

Responsibilities:

• Work on pre-tender engagement positioning; advising the Business Areas on the existing contract landscape and any foreseen risks with the customer's proposed tender approach.
• Collaborate with the company's Bids and Commercial functions on tender submissions, reviewing and overseeing multiple large tender opportunities simultaneously.
• Coordinate and draft tender clarifications and summaries of unacceptable risks for submission to the customer.
• Review, draft, negotiate and execute Commercial Contracts with our customers, highlighting areas of risk, proposing/agreeing risk mitigating strategies.
• Provide ad hoc advice and guidance on public procurement legislation and contractual queries from internal departments.
• Draft and review dispute communications, novation agreements, confidentiality agreements and software licenses.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Being a qualified Commercial Contracts lawyer or hold a CCM or CIPS accreditation with experience in contract drafting is ideal.
• A strong understanding of contract law
• Have a history of providing contractual expertise relating to the provision of high value complex goods and services.
• Knowledge of public procurement regulations (PCR2015) and a basic understanding of data protection matters would be beneficial.
