Commercial Dispute Resolution Solicitor Role:

We are excited to be growing our Commercial Dispute Resolution team which has demonstrable experience of advising high net worth individuals, family businesses, and large organisations on a variety of large value Commercial Disputes. Ideally you will be NQ - 4 years PQE.

Please note some travel and out of hours working will be required for business development, meetings, and training purpose and you will be expected to work in other offices when the need arises.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious Commercial Dispute Resolution team as the department and the firm continue to grow and make an impact in the national legal services market.

This new position is a permanent full-time (37.5 hrs per week) contract and the successful candidate will be based in our Cambridge office. You will be required to work in the office 3 days per week as a minimum.


Responsibilities of a Commercial Dispute Resolution Solicitor:

  • Reporting to the Partners in the department to assist with a varied caseload of contractual and tortious disputes.
  • An integral part of the Commercial Dispute Resolution team, delivering advice and work of high quality, sourcing new opportunities, and supporting the overall profile of the team.
  • Proactively attracting work according to the needs of the firm.
  • Delivery of individual targets with light supervision and support.
  • Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and building appropriate relationships with clients.
  • Adherence to agreed quality procedures and management systems.
  • Undertake and deliver work in a commercially effective manner.
  • Development of technical and non-technical skills to meet client and firm requirements and demonstrate continuous improvement in all areas of work.


Skills and experience of a Commercial Dispute Resolution Solicitor:

  • Relevant professional qualifications.
  • Strong legal skills and knowledge in a Commercial Dispute Resolution setting.
  • Responsible for a broad and varied caseload including contractual and tortious claims.
  • Sound knowledge of court procedures and processes and alternative Dispute Resolution options, with excellent communication skills.
  • You will be proactive and passionate about your career.
  • Proven results in supporting business development across a team or firm.
  • Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A strong team player with a motivational hands-on approach.
  • Uses initiative, plans, and organises own time and workload to meet deadlines and prioritises work.
  • A measured and rational approach to problem-solving.
  • Deals confidently and diplomatically with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates integrity and congruence when dealing with people.
