Heath Electrical Services is seeking for skilled and experienced Commercial Electricians to join our team. As a Commercial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in commercial and industrial buildings. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure that electrical projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial buildings, including wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment.Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout and specifications for electrical systems.Ensure that electrical installations and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.Troubleshoot electrical problems and perform accurate diagnoses to identify and repair issues.Install and connect wiring, conduit, and electrical components according to project requirements and specifications.Perform electrical testing, including continuity, voltage, and resistance checks, to ensure proper functioning and safety of electrical systems.Emergency Lighting Testing.Smart LED Lighting schemes.Electrical Installation Condition Reports.Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and coordination of electrical projects.Estimate material and labour costs for electrical projects and provide accurate quotations.Keep abreast of industry trends, new electrical technologies, and best practices.Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on job sites.Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, inspections, and materials used.Provide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.Essential SkillsRequirements:
· Proven work experience as a Commercial Electrician or in a similar role.
· Journeyman or master electrician license, as required in the local jurisdiction.
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and materials.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and technical drawings.
· Solid understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and workload.
· Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Valid UK driver's license.
Required Qualifications:
· NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification or equivalent, such as City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 2357. This is often seen as a standard entry-level qualification for electricians in the UK.
· Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation: This typically includes practical training and assessments to demonstrate competence in the role.
· ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Card: An ECS card demonstrates that the holder is a skilled worker and understands health and safety in the context of their job.
· City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition): Knowledge of the current Wiring Regulations is essential for any electrician role.
· City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent: This is a qualification in Inspection and Testing, which is often required for Commercial Electricians.
· Experience: a minimum of 2 years of experience as a qualified electrician, with a focus on commercial settings.
· MUST hold a valid JIB card.Preferred Qualifications:
· City & Guilds 2396: This is a level 4 qualification in Design and Verification of Electrical Installations. It's not always required but could be a benefit for more senior roles.
· IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) License: This qualification is not always necessary but could be beneficial if the role involves work at height.
· Additional certifications or specialised training in specific electrical areas (e.g., control systems, low voltage, fire alarms).
· Experience in commercial and industrial electrical projects.
· Knowledge of energy-efficient electrical systems and sustainable practices.
· Experience with motor controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical individuals.
· ECS Gold Card
