Commercial Finance Analyst

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be recruiting a Commercial Finance Analyst for a well respected manufacturing business in Rotherham. They operate a hybrid policy so you can work from home up to 3 days a week but there will be some occasional travel to their other manufacturing site and other off site meetings from time to time.
This Commercial Finance Analyst position will play a crucial role in collecting, organizing, and analysing large sets of data. The primary objective is to extract meaningful insights and trends from raw data, enabling the business to make informed business decisions. This is a brand newly created role for the business so the initial work will be building a lot of this from scratch primarily using the Power BI front end and existing data architecture. The role will then support the company by taking this technologically derived information and reporting, to produce meaningful insights. This will be through doing the physical deep dive analysis to understand and interpret it, producing key insights to the senior management team. Good business partnering experience is therefore crucial.

Duties will include: -
- Support the FP&A manager in regular monthly and quarterly reporting, forecasts, budgets and other tasks
- Using the BI and statistical analysis tools to add insight that contributes to business decision making and creates operational and strategic value
- Reporting development in Power BI and other tools
- Ongoing maintenance of certain Power BI tools/reports to ensure data integrity
- Product Owner of BI tools such as CPM or CTP
- Data Governance
- Producing business-driven insights by providing accurate and timely analysis and information in a simple, user-friendly format
- Designing, creating and maintaining management reporting, insight and information provision using the company MIS platforms and systems, whilst also understanding the business and be able to provide technical solutions that are relevant to the company
- Work in close collaboration with key stakeholders across multiple teams, enhancing the understanding of business systems and processes to a high level
- Post launch reviews of key capex investments to validate actual payback vs the business case
- Assisting in the production of forecasts and budgets

The ideal person will have the following skills and experiences: - 
- Good working knowledge of Power BI 
- Business partnering skills
- Self starter; drive own agenda and workload 
- Good analytical skills 
- Ability to look at ways of improving use and presentation of data  
- Good working knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems, SQL would be beneficial although not essential 
- Project management skills
- Good team working skills
- Attention to detail
- Creative approach to problem solving
- Good presentation/communication skills
