Commercial Gas Heating Engineer - Bristol - Permanent £40,000pa + Co Van and Fuel Card + excellent benefits
My client is seeking an experienced an Commercial Gas Heating Engineer on a permanent basis across schools in Bristol.
Main Purpose:
To carry out mechanical and combustion servicing on all associated gas fired boiler and heating plant, Planned Preventative Services and Reactive Works in time and up to date where required. To carry out Mechanical Services, extra works and emergency procedures. Ensure all Statutory & mandatory compliance maintenance and records/certificates are kept up to date at all times in line with the contractual requirements. Ensure that CAFM systems and site records are up to date at all times reporting jobs to the helpdesk and in line with Helpdesk requirements. All maintenance tasks to take into account, access, building users and ensure all H&S and contractual paperwork is approved and in place prior to work commencing.
Key Results Areas
Perform planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on, but not limited to, the Commercial Gas fired systems on site
Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services gas fired plant and equipment
Carry out tasks associated with L8 compliance for the prevention and control of legionella risks
Liaise/assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards
Use provided test and monitoring equipment for the purpose of maintaining engineering system operational performance and to aid fault diagnostics and repair, interrogate and adjust systems to maintain correct operation of plant and equipment
Carry out repairs, modifications and installations of plumbing, heating systems and hot/cold water services in copper, plastic, mdpe, black iron and galvanised pipe using soldering, braising, welding, pressfit and compression methods of fitting
Where required undertake and implement minor capital works projects
Implement & comply with the procedures as detailed in the companies IMS, Health & Safety Policies and Statutory obligations
Participate in the site on-call out of hours rota
Undertake any other tasks that may arise from time to time as required and directed by Line Manager / Supervisor
Must be able to obtain and enhanced DBS security check
Skills and Experience - essential
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (including recognised apprenticeship) with a Commercial Gas/heating bias
Gas Safe registered for Commercial Gas installations
Hold the following: COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1/1A, CPA1, CCCN1, COMCAT1
Maintenance and set up of gas fired burners and radiant tube heaters
Maintenance of gas pressure regulator installations (PRIs)
Working knowledge of other building services and trades
Excellent team working and problem-solving capabilities
Gas Safe registered for catering and domestic installations
Skills and Experience - desirable
L8 awareness and experience
Extensive experience of Engineering Services Maintenance
Experience of working to Critical Engineering Risk Management protocols
