Commercial Graduate

Alfred H Knight has an opportunity for an individual to join our Commercial Graduate Programme and be part of our Business Development support team whose responsibility it is to support the global network of Business Development Managers within the AHK group and assist with the commercial activity, specifically within the Circular Economy team.

Based in our UK Global Headquarters in the North West of England, the role will involve a twelve month development programme. You will spend time learning about AHK, working within, and gaining an understanding of the Business Planning and Analysis department.

This experience, coupled with your drive, will open up further opportunities in the Group. Other candidates that have followed a similar programme have taken up commercial and management roles both in the UK and overseas.

Essential

Required Competencies

• Commercial or Business graduate.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken as you would be working with external and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness in order to identify potential sales opportunities, generate sales revenue and review and analyse market data.
• A high level of customer service skills which will involve either communicating with inbound customers mainly by email, and potentially outbound customers.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate data with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in English.

Required Work Experience

• Previous internship or initial professional work experience in a commercial environment is desirable but not essential.
• Sales or Account Management experience.
• Knowledge of statistics and data visualisation programmes such as Power BI is advantageous.
• Energy, Metals and Minerals industry knowledge.

Required Languages

• Other languages advantageous (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, French).

• Travel as required both domestically and internationally.
• Must have a valid passport and ability to obtain visas as necessary.
