Title: Commercial Litigation Lawyer

Location: Edgbaston

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Their expertise lies in Commercial Litigation, complemented by dedicated departments in Private Client, Family/Divorce, Property, and Insurance. Situated in multiple offices in Birmingham, they are currently in a phase of both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, making this an opportune moment to become part of their expanding team.

Serving a diverse clientele that includes major corporations, professionals, and SMEs, they presently have an immediate opening for a Commercial Litigation Lawyer within their thriving Commercial Litigation Department.

The ideal candidate will integrate into a dynamic team and should possess experience in handling a diverse range of matters, including:

  • Resolving contractual issues, including claims under personal guarantees
  • Tackling professional negligence cases
  • Managing disputes in company and partnership matters
  • Addressing shareholder disputes
  • Handling freezing and search orders
  • Dealing with high-value personal disputes
  • Engaging in insolvency litigation, covering applications to set aside statutory demands, winding up petitions, and representing or defending claims made by insolvency practitioners on behalf of companies in administration and liquidation.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years post-qualification experience as a Solicitor or Legal Executive in litigation
  • Strong work ethic with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding 1500 hours in chargeable billing
  • Effective case management skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Academic qualifications of a 2:1 or above degree
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management capabilities
  • Proficient drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to cultivate trusted client relationships
  • Willingness to actively participate in business development initiatives
  • Flexibility for travel between offices; a driving license is advantageous.
