The role
As a Commercial Manager, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will provide commercial management to the contracts across the Training Line of Business, through supporting with any contract change and contractual issues.
Day to day, you will be providing support on contract queries across our Defence Training Contracts, responsibilities include:
- Lead and support any changes on Training contracts supporting development of growth opportunities
- Lead and support negotiations with the customers on contractual issues where required
- Lead and support commercial projects across the wider Training Line of Business where required
- Negotiate and manage Confidentiality Agreements, Teaming Agreements and Consultancy Agreements where necessary
- Provide appropriate governance guidance to the Training contract teams
- Attend customer, supplier and internal meetings as required
This is a full-time permanent role at 37 hours per week and will be a mixture of remote working, travel to customer sites and other locations on an as required basis.
Essential experience of the Commercial Manager:
- Proven track record of managing part or all multi £m complex contracts and dealing directly with customers
- Proven track record of leading/supporting multi £m contractual changes customers
- Experience and or knowledge of Babcock's or best practice governance processes
- Extensive background in multi-disciplinary environments covering the contract life cycle
- Ability to translate impact of negotiated terms on P&L and risk to delivery
- Experience in Infrastructure and Facilities Management contracts is desirable
Qualifications for the Commercial Manager:
- Qualified to degree level in a commercial discipline
