A rapidly growing FMCG company who work within the luxury retail sector, are looking for a Commercial Manager to join their team. This is a company who have reached some amazing milestones to date and are now looking for someone who can come in and take the reins with really pushing them into the next level of success by coaching, mentoring and developing the current and future core team.
Role responsibilities:
- Lead and provide strategic direction to the commercial team
- Coach and develop team members, setting clear objectives and KPIs to enhance individual and team performance
- Improve training and induction plan for new starters and existing team members
- Implement, and monitor sales and purchasing strategies in line with company goals and objectives
- Ensure alignment between sales and purchasing plans to optimise stock levels and meet customer demand efficiently
- Propose and monitor sales and purchasing targets, providing regular progress updates to the Commercial Director
- Monitor and analyse gross profit margins, identifying opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimisation
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, negotiating terms and resolving any issues promptly
- Provide insights and recommendations to adapt the company's commercial strategy accordingly
- Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to optimise inventory levels, minimise holding costs, and ensure product availability to meet customer demand
Qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in commercial roles, including leadership positions
- Prior experience in the wholesale/distribution sector is highly advantageous.
- Experience working in FMCG industry is highly advantageous.
