Job description

Commercial Manager permanent, salaried post based on-site at a major client project based in North Wales. This is a 4 -5 year programme of works, reporting to the Project Site Director, Commercial Director, and wider team. Offering a highly competitive annual salary, car allowance/company car, enhanced employee benefits and subsidised accommodation, and paid meal allowances Monday to Thursday.

Required to take responsibility for the commercial function on a project or section of a project to deliver a commercial strategy and contribute to a result agreed with management, focusing on timescales and financial budgets. As a Commercial Manager, you will be expected to protect the company's position through 360-degree relationships. Collaborating with the client's representatives, who are involved in the excavation and tunnelling works of this Visual Impact Provision project.

We are looking for an experienced and proven Commercial Manager who can evidence and demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of working experience at a similar level, able to manage supplier relationships and ensure costings are on point whilst maintaining all areas of NEC contracts and administration. Educated to Degree Level Civil Engineering (or similar) with a desire to continue this career path for the foreseeable future.

Although not exhaustive, the list of duties and responsibilities will include the preparation and approval of subcontractor payments to ensure contract term compliance, producing accurate and timely forecasts and monthly reports to demonstrate contract performance, and monitoring commercial and contract performance to ensure prompt and focused corrective action.

To systematically review and validate incoming information, to ensure that local teams and workloads are balanced. Mentor team members, leading regular commercial meetings, internally or with clients. Naturally, you should have a detailed understanding of the main contract's principles and specifics, as well as the project's requirements (including work scope and procedures), and a thorough understanding of the commercial arrangements with the supply chain.
