Located on the East Coast, an innovative endeavour to plan, design, and construct two EPR nuclear reactors. Drawing inspiration from the technology and design of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in Somerset, This power station aims to push boundaries and set new standards in nuclear energy.

The impact of this power station extends far beyond its immediate vicinity, offering low-carbon electricity to approximately 6 million households while catalysing economic growth at local, regional, and national levels. Job Purpose / Overview:

The Commercial / Supply Chain Manager assumes commercial responsibility for all pre- and post-contract matters pertaining to contracts assigned within the project. This role typically involves managing contracts ranging from £0-£100m in value, with varying degrees of risk and complexity.

Principal Accountabilities:

· Supervise Supply Chain Assistants and oversee their day-to-day activities.

· Provide support throughout the procurement process, from pre-award evaluations to defining commercial requirements.

· Oversee commercial aspects during the execution phase, ensuring contracts are administered efficiently and in alignment with project objectives.

· Lead contract final account agreements and manage the closeout phase, ensuring adherence to the governance requirements and commercial best practices.

· Foster the professional development of oneself and team members, ensuring compliance with established commercial procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

Essential:

· Proficiency in commercial/contract management with a solid understanding of best practices.

· Demonstrated success in administering contracts and making informed financial decisions.

· Strong grasp of contract performance measurement, risk management, and change and claim management.

· Educated to degree level.

· Experience with common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) within the construction and infrastructure sector, with a focus on the impact of UK Law on contracts and commercial functions.

Desirable:

· Experience in the power construction industry and major projects/programme environments.

· Familiarity with nuclear site license conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.

· Understanding of the UK regulatory framework.

· Membership in or studying towards professional bodies such as RICS, CICES, IOB, or equivalents.
