Vibe Recruit's client, based in Newport, are looking for an experienced Commercial Operations Supervisor to join their team. Working for an environmental organisation whose aims are to reduce the amount of material going to waste and to benefit the local communities of South Wales. This is a full time, permanent role.

You will have experience of working within fleet or waste management, have demonstrable experience of managing a team and have a high level of emotional intelligence.

The right candidate will manage the current drivers and collectors, help recruit new candidates to the team as well as manage the trucks, rounds and all operational aspects on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collections and deliveries:

• Monitor and maintain the drivers collection schedule
• Route planning to optimise collections with the aid of route software
• Ensure collections are made in an efficient and timely manner
• Work to ensure customer satisfaction

Manage commercial drivers and collectors, including, but not limited to;

• Maintaining accurate attendance records
• Management of annual leave and sickness absence to include return to work interviews
• Performance management of staff
• General human resource management

Work as part of a team:

• Work closely with the Commercial Recycling Officer to assist with service expansion and in times of service disruption, minimise disruption to clients
• Work closely with the Transport Manager regarding vehicle issues and planned maintenance schedules
• Work with the senior management team to conduct accident/incident investigations

Hours of work: 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday (some overtime expected)

Benefits: Pension, death in service, birthday day off, 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays) rising by 1 with each year of service to 33 days holidays. Clean driving licence and access to a car essential.
