Brightwork are pleased supporting our client, a leading player in the food industry, based in the North of Scotland, with the recruitment of a Commercial Planner.

Our client, an employee-owned business, established over 30 years ago, are committed to delivering sustainable, high-quality seafood to its customers. With a significant presence in the highlands, our client operates with a focus on excellence and innovation.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will be pivotal in driving sales forecasting, planning, and delivery strategies. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Commercial Director and key internal teams to manage and enhance relationships with key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key customers to generate accurate sales forecasts and analyse daily, weekly, and seasonal trends.
  • Work closely with production teams across multiple sites to develop plans that optimise results for our client.
  • Maintain effective communication both internally and externally to ensure alignment and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Support profitable sales growth by assisting with customer-facing new product development projects and coordinating multi-category promotional plans.
  • Identify opportunities for new product development and improvements to existing products in collaboration with NPD and production teams.
  • Coordinate regular sales and wastage reporting, analyse customer category data, and provide insights to inform operational and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external meetings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide support for fish planning and line scheduling.

Key Attributes:

  • Experience in the food industry, preferably with a focus on fresh food.
  • Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities.
  • Enthusiastic, resilient, and task-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Logical mindset with proficiency in gathering, interpreting, and presenting data/reports.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages and basic statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to understand customer needs and effectively communicate them to the supply chain and farming community.
