As the Commercial Policy Manager, you'll provide commercial oversight and management of all distribution commercial policies & strategies ( £1.2bn offers p.a. across all voltages) in a rapidly evolving landscape. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your commercial skills and experience within the electricity distribution industry.
What you'll be doing
- Manage a multi-functional cross discipline Commercial Policy team, with responsibility for ensuring policy, processes & governance. Capture, resolve and communicate solutions to key emerging commercial challenges, alongside traditional network commercial challenges.
- Lead the development of key commercial policies and methodologies, spanning £1.2bn of connection offer activity, ensuring timely delivery, communication, and governance.
- Lead on embedding regulatory changes, rapidly changing regional policies, and other key emerging issues.
- Manage delivery of relevant regulatory commitments & incentive performance (Ca. £2m p.a.)
- Develop & implement a Contract Database for 4000 agreements / contracts, managing associated liabilities and obligations and providing visibility to aid network planning and operation.
- Lead and negotiate commercial terms for bespoke contracts / agreements (value of £50m-£100m by 2028)
- Undertake role of Distribution Connection Use of System (DCUSA) Agreement Contract Manager, delegating responsibility as required to ensure licence compliance and protect & improve the company's commercial and revenue interests in relation to proposed Change Proposals.
- Manage relevant government/industry groups to protect & improve the company's commercial & revenue interests,
What you'll bring
- Advanced knowledge and experience of contracts and commercial terms
- Experience of engaging with stakeholders in a regulated environment
- A track record of delivery, ideally in a relevant area of activity
- An understanding of effective partnership working with other utilities and organisations
- High level business planning, financial awareness and strategic thinking;
- Effective at leading and managing change in a complex environment and creating a culture of engagement and positivity
- Excellent written and oral communication, and persuasive skills;
- High impact influencing skills;
- High level analytical skills and advanced mathematical abilities.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a very diverse and demanding workload;
