Commercial Portfolio Manager - Solar PV & BESS
Location: London - Hybrid work available
Climate17 are working closely with a fully integrated renewable energy business that build, own and operate a mixed portfolio of solar, battery and wind assets across the UK.
They are actively looking for a Commercial Portfolio Manager to join their team to provide extensive asset & commercial management experience across an operational portfolio of solar PV and BESS assets.
Responsibilities

• Portfolio Value Protection:

• Representing the asset owner and working closely with the appointed asset management and O&M businesses, maintain a deep understanding of a portion of the UK solar PV portfolio.
• Primary responsibility in always ensuring lender compliance, and leading equity investor and debt provider liaison.
• Ensure all material operational costs associated with the allocated group of assets are rational, appropriate, and sensible.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with key contractors.
• Support the onboarding of new solar and (potentially) battery storage acquisitions into the Portfolio function and assist with the closing and post-closing actions.
• Assist in the periodic review and negotiation of solar PV, onshore and offshore wind and battery storage EPC contracts where appropriate.

• Portfolio Value Enhancement:

• Provide support in devising and managing initiatives.
• Assist in identifying, designing and implementing optimisation strategies.
• Monitoring the wider solar PV, wind and battery storage markets for other value enhancement opportunities
• Provide input and recommendations for implementing operational cost savings & cost renegotiations to reap the benefits of economies of scale.

• Reporting:

• Lead the analysis of performance data, and drafting commercially insightful, innovative, and high-quality operational reports for allocate portion of the lenders, equity investors, internal audiences and the market, constantly striving to improve each report.

• Investment & Development Support

• Provide lead support and insight, as required, to both the acquisition of secondary assets and investment into post-subsidy development projects. business rates and leases.
• Provide support in the negotiation of solar PV EPC and ICP contracts, with a particular focus on the post-commissioning elements of the agreements.

Requirements

• At least 4-5 years of direct, utility-scale solar PV asset and commercial management experience, BESS experience very beneficial, onshore wind a bonus
• Direct, demonstratable experience of leading equity investor and lender / debt provider liaison and reporting
