Avatar Dining Ltd, renowned for its specialized Indian and Nepalese dishes, is seeking a dedicated and talented Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The Commis Chef will play a key role in supporting the kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and authentic Indian and Nepalese cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Support:
Assist in the preparation of Indian and Nepalese dishes as per the recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Food Quality and Presentation:
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
Pay attention to detail in garnishing and serving dishes to enhance the overall dining experience.
Recipe Adherence:
Follow recipes accurately and contribute to the creation of consistent and authentic flavours.
Seek guidance from senior kitchen staff to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels for ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Notify the relevant personnel when stock is running low and participate in stock checks.
Hygiene and Safety:
Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
Follow proper procedures for food storage, handling, and disposal.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
Support and assist colleagues during busy periods or as required.
Training and Development:
Participate in training sessions provided by senior kitchen staff.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in culinary skills and techniques.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the relevant personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Culinary qualification or relevant culinary training.
Proven experience (X+ years) as a Commis Chef in a restaurant or culinary establishment.
Knowledge of Indian and Nepalese cuisine and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
