Commissioning Engineer
£34,000 - £37,500 Per Annum (OTE with overtime £60,000)

gap technical are proud to be representing this Manufacturing business in their search for a Commissioning Engineer to work at their facility based near Rochdale
Performance Objectives

Commissioning Execution

  • Carry out the commissioning process for new installations, conducting rigorous testing of both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with other team members and the project teams to ensure successful installation, commissioning, and functionality of the equipment.

Testing and Validation

  • Implement comprehensive testing procedures for electrical and mechanical aspects of the systems.
  • Validate and troubleshoot control systems, sensors, and mechanical components during the commissioning phase.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Carry out detailed commissioning reports, documenting test results, system configurations, and any deviations from project specifications.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation for handover to operations and maintenance teams.

Collaboration with Engineering Teams

  • Work closely with your manager, electrical and mechanical design engineers to address any commissioning challenges and refine system functionalities.

QHSE Compliance

  • Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to QHSE protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct dynamic safety assessments during commissioning to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Troubleshooting and Optimization

  • Identify and resolve issues arising during the commissioning process, applying problem-solving skills to optimize system performance.
  • Implement adjustments and fine-tuning to enhance efficiency and reliability of the equipment

Training and Handover

  • Provide training to operational and maintenance teams on the newly commissioned systems.
  • Facilitate a smooth handover process, ensuring that end-users are well-equipped to operate the equipment correctly.

Working Away

  • The nature of this role will require the Commissioning Electrical and Mechanical Engineer to work away from the main office or project site for varying durations. The ability to adapt to different locations and environments is essential for successful job performance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in accommodating changing work locations and schedules, understanding the dynamic nature of commissioning activities.

Person Specification

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in commissioning electrical and mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with control systems, sensors, and automation technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Commitment to safety standards and regulations.
  • Clean driving licence
