We are currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Renewable Energy clients. The role will be covering projects all over the UK so will require travel and comes with a salary between £45,000 - £60,000.
Responsibilities for Commissioning Engineer
- Conducting electrical testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of renewable energy generation projects.
- Conducting electrical engineering and testing activities.
- Functional checking of relay and control panels.
- Electrical schematic verification, continuity checks
- Transformer tests - winding IR test, ratio test, winding resistance measurement, magnetizing current measurement, Oil sampling collection, Test of alarm devices.
- Switchgear functional checks
- DC/AC/HV Cable testing and fault finding
- Secondary current injection to relays to test protection functions such as: 50/51, 50N/51N,
- Secondary Voltage injection (G99) test, ROCOF, LOM, OV/UV/OF/UF
- Relays logic configuration (Desirable ABB REF615)
- CT & VT Primary injection
- High Voltage switching operations
Requirements for Commissiong Engineer
- Familiar with Omicron CMC356 secondary injection test kit or similar test set (Ponovo, Sverker, etc)
- Experience with Hi-Pot, VLF, Ductor, IR Testing and HV Cable Fault finding testing equipment
- IT network knowledge, PC network setting adjustment to connect to testing kits, relays and testing software
- Able to read electrical schematic drawings up to 33KV
- Sound analytical and technical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Troubleshooting and ‘can do’ attitude
- Electrical engineering BSc degree
- MSc in Power systems – beneficial
- Industry related qualifications to High Voltage testing and commissioning
