SalaryWe are seeking to recruit a G10 Children’s commissioner to work within the Children and Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Service.

The role requires working closely with colleagues in health services, education and social care as well as external providers, partners and service users in order to commission, and contract manage delivery of a range of services which meet the needs of children, young people and their families.
The post holder will be instrumental in:
- Commissioning high quality, compliant and value for money services.
- Improving outcomes for service users and communities across Wakefield.
- Representing Children’s Commissioning at strategic meetings
- Providing support and challenge effectively at a strategic level.
Key tasks include:
- Contract performance management,
- Service audit,
- Need assessments,
- Options appraisal,
- Drafting service specifications,
- Compiling tender documentation,
- Evaluation and moderation of tenders
- Market development,
- Reviewing / Evaluating services and de-commissioning.
About you:
Ideally, you will have a sound knowledge and experience of commissioning, ideally within a local authority or NHS setting, and significant experience of partnership working across agencies such as health and the third sector.
You should be able to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment and will need to be comfortable working across a range of commissioned services and with different stakeholders.
