This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply. So please don't hesitate, apply today.
You will be coming on board at an exciting time for the Commissioning Directorate in Peterborough, as we have the rare opportunity to establish the service in a new and innovative manner. In light of the ending of shared services, we are establishing our workforce; this is the time to help shape and grow the directorate and support Peterborough to be the best it can.
The role of Commissioning Officer will include supporting the commissioning, contract monitoring and quality assurance of services, improving the outcomes of older people and vulnerable adults. You will be working within a varied portfolio of services, from care homes, to home care, to early intervention and prevention services in the community. We are also taking a focus on engaging with the community, speaking to service users about their experience of commissioned care, and looking to improve our offer, particularly within Learning Disabilities and Autism services.
This role would be ideal for someone who has worked within Adult Social Care who would like to be part of improving services and shaping change. Perhaps you have been a Senior Support Worker, a Deputy Manager, or a Field Supervisor and are looking for the next step in your career. Or maybe you have an eye for detail and enjoy problem solving and working with people to improve services.
If this has interested you, please apply now and start your journey in commissioning – where you can make a real difference to the quality of care for the people of Peterborough.
If you have:
  • The ability to work with a range of people to achieve a common goal
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient organisational and planning skills
  • An enthusiastic attitude and an eagerness to learn
  • And are passionate about making a difference to the lives of older people, vulnerable adults and their families, this could be the role for you.

We offer:
  • A salary offered at Grade 8 (£29,777 - £33,024)
  • Excellent index-linked, defined benefit pension scheme
  • Outstanding occupational, sick, maternity/paternity and shared parental leave schemes
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and development
