Job Purpose
As a Commodity Engineer specializing in Battery Enclosures at Agratas, you will be instrumental in the development and delivery of the next-generation Battery Enclosure systems. You will work closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and quality assurance specialists to ensure that our Battery Enclosures meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and safety.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Commodity Management: Using industry leading expertise, you will lead the develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies for Battery Enclosure components.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery commitments. Engage in negotiations and contract management to secure optimal terms.
- Sourcing and Procurement: Lead the process of sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for Battery Enclosure components. Oversee procurement activities, including RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, and cost analyses.
- Cost Optimization: Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining or improving the quality and performance of Battery Enclosure components. Drive initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce overall system cost.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in Battery Enclosure systems, providing guidance to cross-functional teams during the integration process. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of Battery Enclosure components.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and monitor quality standards for Battery Enclosure components. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with the sourcing and integration of Battery Enclosure components. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard against potential disruptions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in Battery Enclosure technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes. Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in commodity management, procurement, or sourcing within the automotive or related industries.
- Technical expertise in mechanical Battery Enclosure systems, including material selection, CAE, FEA and CAD Design.
- Familiarity with supplier quality management, negotiations, and contract management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
