Job Purpose

As a Commodity Engineer specializing in Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) at Agratas, you will be a key player in managing and optimizing the sourcing and integration of electrical distribution components within our battery packs. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and quality assurance specialists to ensure that our EDS meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Commodity Management: Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies for electrical distribution components, including wiring harnesses, connectors, and associated systems.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong and productive relationships with suppliers, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery expectations. Lead negotiations and manage contracts to secure favourable terms.
• Sourcing and Procurement: Oversee the process of sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for EDS components. Manage procurement activities, including RFQ/RFP processes, supplier assessments, and cost analyses.
• Cost Optimization: Implement initiatives for cost reduction while preserving or enhancing the quality and performance of EDS components. Drive efficiency improvements to reduce overall system cost.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in EDS components, providing guidance to cross-functional teams during the integration process. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical distribution systems.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish and monitor quality standards for EDS components. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with the sourcing and integration of EDS components. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to mitigate potential disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in electrical distribution systems, components, and manufacturing processes. Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in commodity management, procurement, or sourcing within the automotive or related industries.
• Technical expertise in electrical distribution systems, including components like wiring harnesses, connectors, and associated systems.
• Familiarity with supplier quality management, negotiations, and contract management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
