Are you seeking a part-time role in communications, working for a multi award-winning local authority?

This fantastic opportunity is a brand-new role, working across external and internal communications – giving the right candidate the opportunity to be creative and work across a wide range of subject areas.

This varied position will entail liaising with the media, as well as producing and promoting content to staff, residents, stakeholders and more, across a range of digital and non-digtial communications channels.

Our Communications Co-ordinator will be key when it comes to successful communications at the Council – and will play an important role in advising teams, raising the profile of the authority, and helping to ensure we engage with all of those in our communities.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, they will also assist in the creation of effective campaigns, videos, social media content, press releases and the residents’ magazine.

 The person

We are looking for an ambitious and initiative-taking individual, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

It is highly desirable that the candidate has a background working in communications/ PR and/or journalism.

Experience in producing and promoting content and using social media is essential.

An A-level in English is a minimum requirement.

The right individual will be enthusiastic, innovative, and imaginative. They will be a problem solver, have a keen eye for detail, and a creative flair.

They must have a very high level of written skill, with impeccable grammar and spelling.

They will also be able to respond to different situations with flexibility and work well under pressure.

They must also be willing to listen and gear communications to the need of the council, its residents,partners, and staff.

They should also hold a full, clean driving licence and be willing to work in a hybrid environment.
