Your Role

This new role will be part of Stockport’s Communications team and will work closely with our HR and Organisational Development teams to lead and deliver engaging internal communications to colleagues across the council.

About You

You’ll be a results-driven Communications Leader with a track record of leading, delivering and driving forward a broad range of internal communication campaigns in line with corporate priorities and demonstrable experience of reinforcing corporate values and Workforce culture. You will be a self-starter, will hit the ground running and able to motivate a team to deliver top class communications.

This post is politically restricted under the terms of the 1989 Local Government and Housing Act. This dictates that you must seek the council’s permission before taking up any additional appointments or positions.

Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not qualify.

There is a contractual requirement for this role to form part of the On Call Communications Rota which operates Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays from 8am to 8pm. A standby allowance is paid for each shift £32.81 (as at 1 April 2023). The postholder will be on the rota approx 6 weekends a year
