Grade 7: £28,770 - £30, 296 per annum
Are you an experienced and confident Communications and Marketing Officer who is looking for a dynamic new role? Are you passionate about place-making and promoting Preston City Council’s diverse services to our residents?

With excellent rail and motorway connectivity, an award-winning City Living Strategy and an Active Travel Plan to improve the city’s cycle and pedestrian infrastructure, the city boasts some of Lancashire’s most attractive urban greenspaces and historic parks. The city also continues to be the focus of international acclaim as we deliver the Council’s ambitious Community Wealth Building Agenda, often known as the ‘Preston Model’.
We’re looking for a self-starter to join our busy team who has passion and drive, to be part of team with a commitment to promoting Preston as a leading place for investment and a thriving cultural visitor destination, and communicating our essential services and extensive events calendar to our residents.
With a wide variety of services and policies to promote, every day is different. Thinking on your feet and delivering to deadlines, you’ll be part of the team developing and implementing a wide range of engaging, multi-platform, communications plans across all departments, working with officers, cabinet members, frontline services, external delivery partners and our city-wide anchor network partners.
Excellent media relations and press release writing skills, expertise in digital marketing and creating engaging content for social media platforms, and event management experience is a must for this position.
