Job description
Addictions Nurse will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team across the range of community addiction services. They will ensure that a responsive high quality service is provided to service users, their families and carers. They will work within a matrix organisation as a member of the multi-disciplinary community addiction team promoting effective inter-disciplinary and inter-agency working relationships and acting as a link between clients, professionals and other services to ensure continuity of care. They will be expected to work flexibly to ensure that the needs of the service are met in accordance with commissioned arrangements and key performance indicators.The Addiction Nurse will ensure the delivery of skilled, evidenced based interventions to individuals suffering from dependency on alcohol and/or other psychoactive substances. The Addiction Nurse will contribute to the development of this dynamic learning environment by acting as and facilitating mentors for student nurses and others professionals placed with the team.The post holder will be expected to hold a small caseload of opioid substitution clients as well as providing cover for colleagues and will be expected to deputise for or representing the Addiction Team Leader when required. .
