We’ve more than 380 dedicated Community Champions based in our stores across the UK who work with local charities and groups to deliver services and support in your community. From outreach programs to grant giving, our Community Champions are here to transform local communities and improve the lives of those within them.
As the face of Asda in your local area, you’ll be the driving force behind our support of good causes and manage the relationships with local non-profit groups.
You’ll help deliver our community strategy which focuses on:
You’ll spend time each week delivering outreach programs in the local community, providing donations of goods, coordinating our Green Token Giving programme and helping local groups to access funding from the Asda Foundation. You’lll donate in- store space to local causes to enable them to raise awareness and fundraise for the services they offer in the local community.
In your role as an Asda Community Champion, you’ve a great opportunity to offer much needed support to local charities and good causes; through your work and with the Asda Foundation, you’ll know the issues affecting our customers and provide support to the people that need our help. We’re passionate about our national partnerships, Tickled Pink and BBC Children in Need and you’ll be an integral part of energising the whole store to get involved in fundraising activities for these campaigns.
As part of your role, you’ll be measured on the following deliverables:
Outreach/volunteering
Donations of Goods
Asda Foundation grant applications
Fundraising for our national charities
Inviting local charities in to store so promote their charities, raise awareness and fundraise
Promoting your community activities on our internal social platform, Storyfinder
The role would suit someone who:

What you will do:
Manage budgets and donation requests (including Asda Foundation grants), ensuring legal compliance is delivered accurately and on time
Report and accurately record donations on our internal management systems
Using great planning, enthusiasm and an inspirational communication style, you’ll successfully follow and deliver community activities and charitable fundraising events with customers and colleagues
Drive awareness of your store’s activity out in the community, posting your events on Storyfinder
Build and manage external relationships and correspondence with your local community creating strong networks and helping to build more resilient communities
Requirements:
Role fulfilment is dependent on DBS checks; as provided by Asda
