Community Dietician

Band 5: £28,407 - £34,581

Join our Team as a Band 5 Community Dietitian.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Dietitian to join our Community Dietetics Team in South Kirklees on a permanent contract. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive Dietitian, with excellent clinical, communication and team working skills.

This post would suit a newly qualified HCPC registered Dietitian or someone seeking community experience. This is a great opportunity to start your dietetic career or to develop your current skills working within a small team of specialist dietitians in community setting.

Main duties of the job

To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment, and advice both written and verbal to meet the needs of patients who are at risk of malnutrition.

To deliver a food first based approach with the appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements

To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority, and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.

To ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available within the team.


You will be responsible for:

  • Your own caseload of patients who require oral nutrition support in the community offering holistic person-centred care
  • Joint working with other AHP’s, Social care and Nursing colleagues.
  • Offering virtual / telephone / and face to face support.
  • Supporting student placements (After relevant post registration experience and training)


Locala have an excellent system of induction, appraisal, clinical supervision, and training opportunities for all colleagues. As a Band 5 you will be supported in your role with regular supervision & training opportunities.

Our team is dynamic, forward thinking and highly supportive delivering high quality Dietetic services to the population of South Kirklees.

This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period, and you must be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
