Community Engagement Officer
Adferiad Recovery delivers a flexible and coordinated response to the exceptional circumstances faced by people with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions and related issues. Vulnerable people facing complex life challenges need consistent and seamless support to ensure they remain engaged with vital health and wellbeing services – and to prevent them becoming disenfranchised and isolated.
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Salary: £25,490 per annum
Based at: Dawn Centre, Colwyn Bay (Covering Conwy)
Project Overview:
Cyfle Cymru is a Peer Mentoring project which helps people develop confidence to make positive life changes, and provides support to access training, education, volunteering and employment. Our peer mentors draw on their own lived experience to support people affected by substance misuse and/or mental health conditions. Cyfle Cymru will support people aged 16 to 24 (Not in education, employment or training) and those 25+ that are economically inactive or long term unemployed.
Role Purpose:
- Sourcing eligible participants by networking with potential referrers/ agencies ensuring adequate eligibility evidence
- Raising awareness of the service through presentations, attending appropriate meetings and events
- Ensuring the registration outcomes are delivered on target
- Record all activities accurately including client registration forms and outcome monitoring forms required of the scheme.
- Refer participants to other services within the partnership, and other external agencies as appropriate.
- Provide excellent customer service, identify the needs of internal and external customers and strive to deliver a prompt, effective and personalised service.
- Promote training opportunities, group activities and volunteering events that are available to the client group
- Ensuring action plans are completed on registration
- Work alongside the Peer Mentors in delivering the projects goals and objectives
- To support the Project Manager in raising awareness of the service
